SLG Marketing builds on construction awards success

Manchester-based SLG Marketing has been shortlisted for two awards– including the coveted ‘Agency of the Year’ - at the Construction Marketing Awards 2011. The specialist construction agency, which is celebrating its 30th year, is in the running for the ‘Best Campaign Over £25,000’ and ‘Agency of the Year’ awards. SLG impressed judges with its broad-reaching awareness campaign for client Polypipe Civils, a leading UK manufacturer of below ground drainage, sewer, cable protection products and water management solutions. Tasked with highlighting the unique features of Polypipe’s new Ridgistorm-XL large diameter pipe among the trade media and its customer base, the creative teams at SLG came up with a winning formula, ‘The Polypipe Run’, an intensive six month campaign which kicked off with a Mini being driven through the pipe to illustrate its dimensions. Julie Malone, SLG’s Joint Managing Director, said: “We are delighted to be finalists at the Construction Marketing Awards, and this news comes in the same week SLG celebrates its 30th anniversary. We are very proud of the strategic campaigns that we have delivered this year and these nominations are testament to the superb combined efforts of our teams and our clients.” SLG has had an impressive year with a host of new client wins including Pilkington Glass, building and surveying technology provider Korec Group, and Xtralite, the UK’s largest producer of rooflights. It is not the first time SLG has been nominated for these awards. In 2008, the agency was nominated for, and subsequently won, the highly sought-after Agency of the Year title in 2008.  The winners of the Construction Marketing Awards will be announced at a gala dinner in London on November 29 2011.
